Dr. Song serves as Deputy Secretary-general of Tsinghua University and President & CEO of Tsinghua Holdings, Co., Ltd. at present. He also serves Chairmen of the board and Directors of 12 other companies, such as Tsinghua Unisplendour Group, Tsinghua Venture Capital Co., Ltd. and so on.
Dr. Song's experience includes President of Tsinghua Enterprises Group and Chairmen of the board and Directors of 10 other companies, including 2 public listed companies and Science Park of Tsinghua University and so on. And his experience also includes Deputy Director of University-Industry Cooperation Committee of Tsinghua University, Director of R&D Management Office of Tsinghua University, and Director of Student Affairs Office of Tsinghua University.
Dr. Song was an excellent student during the study in Tsinghua University. He had served as Chairman of the 22nd Student Union of Tsinghua University from 1982 to 1983. Dr. Song served as Director of Student Affairs Office of Tsinghua University from 1995 - 1997, and Director of R&D Management Office of Tsinghua University from 1997 - 1998. He had obtained a lot of experience of management and accumulated abundant social relationships, and knowledge on intellectual property right field.
Since 1998, Dr. Song has joined in the administration and supervision authorities of technology industry of Tsinghua University. He led a successful IPO of Tsinghua Unisplendour Corporation Limited in China in 1999, and served as the chairman of the first board of directors of the corporation. Since 2002, Dr. Song planed and led the three biggest enterprises of Tsinghua University, Tsinghua University Enterprise Group, Tsinghua Unisplendour Group and Tsinghua Science Park Development Center, and now restructured and merged as Tsinghua Holdings Co., Ltd. Tsinghua Holdings Co., Ltd. was established in December of 2003, with registered capital of ¥2 billion. The assets of Tsinghua Holdings were ¥19.9 billion at present. Tsinghua Holdings has invested in over 80 portfolio companies including 7 listed companies and over 30 other major portfolio companies. Tsinghua Holdings ranks the 116th of the top 500 enterprises in China, with revenue of ¥12.8 billion at 2003.
Dr. Song has been invited to Japan, America, Korea and other countries to address speeches in the field of technology transfer and industry for many times. He has issued nearly 10 theses on the technology industry formally. Dr. Song has certain studying on the theory of development of technology industry of the university in China, too.
